Dr. Sumit began his clinical training at Government Medical College, Aurangabad, where he completed his MBBS — grounding himself in the realities of Indian healthcare at a public hospital that manages enormous patient volumes with limited resources. This experience shaped his instinct for clinical efficiency and resource-conscious decision making that continues to define his practice.
His postgraduate training in Orthopaedics was completed at St. Theresa Hospital, Hyderabad, under the National Board of Examinations — earning his DNB Orthopaedics, the national equivalent of an MD in orthopedic surgery. This residency exposed him to a high volume and wide variety of orthopedic conditions across all age groups.
He subsequently pursued two dedicated surgical fellowships — a Fellowship in Joint Replacement (FIJR) at Srikara Hospitals, Hyderabad, and a Fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine (FIASM) at Orthosports, Gurugram — both of which are focused, high-volume subspecialty training programmes that prepared him for independent complex surgical practice.
The defining chapter of his professional development came with his certification by the American Board of Regenerative Medicine (DABRM, USA) — a rigorous international examination that required mastery of biological treatment protocols including PRP, BMAC, exosome therapy, and joint preservation medicine.
